For example, the probability of people searching “gaming laptop” is very high, but at the same time the search term “15 inch Dell gaming laptop” is a better keyword, on the grounds that it will allow you to have less competition due to the much more specific keyword. This may make you sacrifice search volume, but it is easier to rank and it using thousands upon thousands of these long-tail keywords will help you stack up on the searches.
Finally, the ribbon to tie your keywords together is called keyword categorization. Keyword categorization means you combine keywords and follow a general theme, so as to catch a wider range of hits and page views. Going back to the long-tail keyword, it can be themed as brands of 15 inch gaming laptops, giving you wide searches as “15 inch Toshiba gaming laptop”, “15 inch Asus gaming laptop” and so on. You can also change some parameters like size or add/remove details. There is no correct or incorrect way to do any of these. Creating keywords for your business is exploratory. You look at what works and what doesn’t and actively remove those that do not. At the end of the day, the best way to see the best results is to use the perspective of your target market and try to understand what they want and how you can help them find you.
